Difficult to know what to choose from the Sunday Times today to get steamed up about or laugh at:
- There is the story of muslim bus drivers and/or their muslim passengers ejecting blind people and their guide dogs from buses - and taxis - because they think dogs are unclean (excuse me but whose country is this?)
- There are the astronomical pension/redundancy rights now evident in the public sector - specifically at senior levels in the BBC and the civil service (changed since I was there!)
- The Labour peers facing further enquiries into their outrageous expense claims.
- The memoirs of Andy Pandy that amazingly demonstrate the Labour Government was a nest of vipers and that the only person with any integrity and loyalty was guess who? (A man elected to represent the working class who hobnobed with the rich and famous and was obsessed by wealth.)
- Moats Facebook fan club - how sick is that?
- The C of E vicar leading the revolt against women bishops (And people wonder why the church has lost contact with people - this is 2010 and time to wake up and smell the coffee. Apparently it is something to do with Christ being a man. So is the bloke who delivers my milk but I am not making it an article of religious faith.)
- The squatting toilets that have been installed in the shopping centre at Rochdale after its bosses went on a ‘cultural awareness course’. (Bring back Thomas Crapper and the dark satanic mills!)
I would like to think I was making all this up but the sad fact about Britain today is that it is all absolutely true……..

Your blog entry today is excellent . Full of depth, perception and a real understanding of the problems faced by this country . I must admit that I thought the blog had lost its way lately but you obviously have benefited form the great intellect of your contributors and I think particularly of Urban Eric and ‘Arry the Axe .
Anyway heres the point - the coalition is going swingingly but frankly the amount of work to be done exceeeds the resources that we have available . In particular we are having problems with IT projects that are out of control , over budget and delivering nothing . For example the system to monitor and control MP s expences which you mention in your blog is now 25 years late and 500m over budget .I understand that are an ex IT Director and I wonder if you would like to join my cabinet with special responsibilities for sorting out the mess that we have inherited .
There will be no salary for this as part of the austerity measures that we recently announced but I will be able to ensure that peerage that I know my predecessor promised you and failed to deliver ( like so many other of his promises)
I do hope that you will be able to join Nick , myself and the team . I will ask Sam , my secretary to call you in a few days to follow up
Yours
David Cameron PM
Looketh verily I say unto thou that thou art on a final warning and no mistaketh. I heareth that thou art puting about that I am now a milkman in Slagheap. Now verily it is true that I can delivereth anything I want anywhere eg manna—that always went down well, maybe do some again soon. But goldtops and yoghurts? I thinketh verily not. Remembereth this chum. I’m best known for my mercifulness but also a dab hand at smoting and like to keep my hand in so don’t tempt me OK? Showeth a bit more respect or big trouble cometh.
