This blog is for all you baby boomers out there who grew up in the 50s, loved the 60s (if you can remember them!), then had the children, paid the mortgage and played the corporate game. So there was a lot of fun - and some challenges - along the way and now what?
Being an old fart provides a great perspective on life but one that seems sometimes at odds with the world we live in. Despite the fact that there are more of us over the age of 50 than under our views are generally ignored as we are not part of the ‘youth culture’ - whatever that is.
In particular many of us are driven mad by the political correctness, self-seeking politicians and other insanities that surround us. This blog seeks to correct the balance and provide a commentary on some of the issues that float by.
But it also celebrates the good bits. Despite what the media would have us to believe, there are so many things we have to be thankful for and to celebrate. We live in a fascinating world and many of us enjoy a great quality of life. Sometimes we need to look around us more and appreciate it.

Hello my friend from the Normandy beaches. Having just turned 50 I believe I can weigh in on this blog of yours from this side of the pond. I am watching my own country’s march toward ‘equality of outcomes’ and I wonder where did all the people pursing life, liberty and happiness go? Seems there are more people with their hands out than up these days. You can get blue in a hurry these days when you focus on our politicians, the press and the continual spin put on every story. Still we find many pleasures, great and small in our own lives. We had a lot of great laughs with T&S this morning over brunch. Some of it directed at you! So things continue to be better than ever!

Hey Hod, great to hear from you. Not sure Tony got any better at navigating as we haven’t seen him for a while. Having fun brushing up my DIY skills at the moment moving into this place. Glad you are getting to laugh, despite the lunacy of politicians and all the rest of the media and political correctness circus! All the best to you and yours.
